McGee Family Dinner O' Green

The long awaited day of March 17th finally rolled around. It was time to put on some green and eat some green food too. In fact, Hunter was so excited to wear his green shirt that he pranced out of his bedroom at 11:00pm the night of the 16th (after being tucked into bed in his PAJAMAS) in his green shirt and jeans. He came out and said, "I'm already for St. Patrick's Day!!" We made him put his pj's back on and go to sleep.
But, on the morning of the 17th, we all put on our green shirts and looked very Irish for the occasion.

We had a beautiful table of green for dinner.
(notice the shamrocks on the plates made of spinach)

Our dinner: Watermelon/Kiwi Kool-aid, Pesto chicken and pasta, and broccoli

Dessert: Lime Jell-o mixed with soft ice cream
My mom used to make this for us. I don't know if there was a recipe or not, but I thought it was good.
Can't wait to do it again next year!

The BIG 30!!

**These pictures are out of order, due to wacky computer or operator**
If everyday were as wonderful as the day I turned 30, life would be
Grand!!
My birthday started out the night before when Kelly brought home the most beautiful bouqet of purple and yellow flowers. I LOVE flowers, especially in Alaska.
When I woke up on March 7th, 2009 my husband prepared me a lovely breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, and orange juice. It was yummy. Then, I got dressed and kind of fixed my hair and went and picked up a babysitter because Kelly and I had a date to go cross country skiing, and it was a blast. We ended up doing about 5-6 miles, some groomed trails, but mostly "classic" trails. Both were fun, but did cause a few sore muscles. :)
After we were done skiing we were going to go out to lunch, but we decided it was kind of late for lunch, so we ate some energizing candy bars instead. Snickers for me!!!!
After going home and taking a long hot shower, we loaded up in the car and took off to the grocery store to pick up dinner ingredients. Shrimp, pasta, garlic bread, asparagas...delish!
Kelly made all of dinner, and I DID set the table because it felt weird not to do anything. The dinner was nice, everyone enjoyed it. After we ate, it was time for some digesting of dinner, and some opening of presents. The boys got me a book, shirt, and Old Navy Gift card. Kelly got me furniture. I did receive presents from other friends and family...thank you, it is always fun to get surprises in the mail.
Last but not least, we had a DIVINE DESSERT...
ASPHALT PIE
Oreo, fudge, caramel, mint chocolate chip icecream, and whipping cream
Need I say more???

So, far being 30 is great.
Now I just have to burn off all of my birthday calories (and Christmas too!)

My First Ice Cream Cone...All alone!

One night after dinner we thought ice cream sounded good for dessert. Hunter had picked out some ice cream cones at the grocery store because he likes his ice cream better in a cone than a dish. When Chance saw that a cone was an option, he just had to have one. So he did!!
He did take a few licks before he decided to go from the bottom to the top.

"Hmmm....this is lovely, but I bet I can make a MESS!!!"

Here we go!! Let's just say we had a bath after the ice cream cone was gone.
And believe me, there was no ice cream or cone left.
Chance is an animal!!!!

Slip and Slide...Fairbanks Style

When it is dark and cold outside, we have to be creative!
So, we enjoy our at home, indoor slip and slide.
Hunter finally mastered the skill

But it took some practicing

with and without Dad, who was the master of indoor slip and slide

Ready, set, go!!!

Chance loved it and was reduced to tears when we stopped doing it.

WEEEEEE!!!!!
May your winter be as fun as ours!

Fun In The Bathroom

I don't know if it is just us, but it seems that we spend a lot of time in the BATHROOM.
We do LAUNDRY in the BATHROOM.
Hunter is my best washing machine loader. He loves to watch the clothes
be "eaten" and "squished" around in there.
What a THRILL!!!
Chance LOVES BATHS- whether there is water or not. If I haven't seen Chance for awhile, I know to check the tubs. It is very funny to watch him get in and out. He is quick!

And THIS is our very FAVORITE BATHROOM activity.

After we brush teeth the boys love to stand and have "drinks" from their toothbrushes.

Credit has to be given to CHANCE for this ritual. He started liking it when we were staying at the hotel.
I could get several things done while he had his "drinking time". I believe his record for standing at the drizzling sink is 15 minutes. It's GREAT!

It finally happened!

Introducing............

Chancey Maggot and Hunter Buddy
Superheroes of the World!!!!

Conquering eviiiiiil, and marching "onward every onward"

One sweet smile at a time

The boys finally wanted capes. I had been thinking I should make some for a while now, but haven't with the move and everything. So, one night after bath Hunter was drying himself off and got hold of two sides of the towel, and realized what he had made.

A CAPE

Finally, after holding the two sides and running around for some time he asked me if I could tie the towel together, but Mom had a better idea.

The Pampered Chef Chip Clips

They flew around saving the good guys till atleast 8:30 :)
